POM（Polyoxymethylene）

Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as "Acetal" or "Delrin", is a commonly used engineering plastic in humid environments. It has a smooth, glossy surface, is tough, and exhibits high rigidity.
POM demonstrates a certain level of stability against olefins and weak acids. It can replace most non-ferrous metals and is used in the manufacture of components, bearings, fasteners, and gears, making it an ideal material for precision bearing rings.

POM Material Characteristics

The working temperature range of POM is from -60°C to 100°C. Due to its high surface strength and smoothness, POM exhibits excellent sliding performance, wear resistance, aging resistance, creep resistance, heat resistance, impact resistance, and low friction coefficient. It has good self-lubricating properties and excellent electrical insulation, being virtually unaffected by temperature and humidity.
Furthermore, POM is essentially tension-free. Its copolymers possess high heat stability and chemical stability, particularly enhanced resistance to hydrolysis.

Precautions for Operating with POM

Avoid exposure to strong acids, alkalis, and oxidizing agents as POM is not resistant to them.
Difficult to glue and paint.
Moderate weather resistance; avoid prolonged exposure to UV radiation.
