Bearing Types Overview
Bicycle bearings are used in hubs, bottom brackets, headsets, pedals, pulleys, and frame pivots. They support rotating or moving components and affect friction, noise, load capacity, and riding stability.
Ball bearings are widely used in various applications when high speed revolution, low-friction torque, low vibration, and low noise are required. Ball bearings are easy to install and require less maintenance than many other bearing types.
ISK supplies ceramic and engineered plastic bearings for applications that require corrosion resistance, lower rotational resistance, or non-metallic materials. Available materials include POM, PTFE, PEEK, full ceramic, and hybrid ceramic options.
Needle roller bearings are characterized by their compact design and high load capacity. It is made with relatively heavy but thin outer ring, made from hardened and precision ground materials, thus provides the smallest section height.
Special customized bearings can be provided with corresponding bearing design according to customers' use requirements.
The rolling elements of this bearing are tapered rollers. They form a line contact with raceway of inner ring and outer ring, that can be separable. They are available in both metric, inch, and non-standard dimensions.
A spherical plain bearing (Rod end) is known for its good wear resistance, manufactured to withstand big radial load and axial load from any direction. It is suitable for both production and construction machinery.
Bushings are designed with a low coefficient of friction, good wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and self-lubricating properties. It provides better self-lubrication, hard weariness, and low friction. There are many advantages using bushings, such as reduced cost smaller in size, low noise.
The linear bearing, an essential component in bearing manufacture, is designed to rotate with the steel ball, enabling it to function within the linear motion system as a linear motion mechanism. It exhibits small friction and relative stability while maintaining high accuracy, low noise, and high rigidity even under heavy load.
