The ISK Bearings 6203 2RS is a single-row deep groove ball bearing with dimensions consistent with the rest of the series (17mm bore, 40mm outer diameter, 12mm width), fitted with rubber contact seals on both sides. Compared with non-contact metal shields (ZZ), contact seals generally give a better barrier against fine dust and moisture. However, because the sealing lip contacts the inner ring, running friction is comparatively higher, which in turn affects the achievable speed ceiling and heat generation. It's a trade-off between sealing and speed/heat, and whether it fits still depends on the operating conditions.
With contact seals, the balance to look at is protection needs versus speed and temperature. It helps to confirm the running speed, the operating temperature range, and how dirty or humid the environment is. If the environment is dirty or damp and speed demand is modest, 2RS is a common candidate. If speed is higher and the application is sensitive to friction and heat, it's worth evaluating whether non-contact (ZZ) or open (OPEN) would fit better.
If you're considering the 6203 2RS, it helps to share three things first: running speed, operating temperature, and how dirty or humid the environment is. We can then help judge whether contact seals are suitable. If you already have a part number, drawing, or sample, feel free to include it too.
Some non-standard or currently out-of-stock bearings may not be immediately available. If you have specific requirements, feel free to contact us — we will do our best to confirm lead times and provide alternative solutions.
