The 6005 OPEN is the open version of the deep groove ball bearing, with a 25mm bore, 47mm outer diameter and 12mm width, and no shields or seals on either side. Because there is no built-in shielding, lubrication supply and external protection have to be handled by the equipment or the operating environment. Whether an open design fits still depends on the actual mounting environment and lubrication method.
With an open design, the key difference is that lubrication and contamination protection sit at the system level, not in the bearing itself. It helps to first clarify a few points: whether the operating environment involves dust, moisture or cutting fluid; whether lubrication is oil bath, oil mist or periodic re-greasing; and whether the housing already provides external sealing or a guard.
