The 6003 2RS has rubber seals on both sides — a contact seal, where the sealing lip stays in contact with the inner ring, generally giving more complete protection against contaminants and moisture than a non-contact structure. Compared with the open 6003 OPEN and the metal-shielded 6003ZZ, the 2RS offers more comprehensive protection; in return, the lip contact also adds friction. Whether it suits your case still depends on the actual operating conditions.
A contact seal raises protection, but compared with non-contact structures (OPEN, ZZ) it generally brings higher contact friction, which is more sensitive to temperature rise at high speed. The real impact needs to be judged together with speed, load, and ambient temperature. If your position calls for fairly complete dust and moisture protection and the speed is not too high, the 2RS can be considered; if you're after very low running resistance or high speed, the friction and heat-rise conditions should be factored in as well.
To judge whether the 6003 2RS fits, two points help to confirm first: ① the protection needs of the environment (keeping out moisture, splash, or humidity); ② the intended operating speed and temperature range.
